Most Americans still imagine they inhabit the constitutional republic framed in Philadelphia in 1787. Five republics have risen and fallen since that compact, each successive order tightening the administrative grip until the original frame lies buried beneath a surveillance leviathan directed by the Managerial Priesthood.
The first republic perished in the centralizing war that established the national bank and the supremacy of federal courts over state covenants. Successive transformations followed through progressive amendments, the administrative state erected in the twentieth century, and the post-war expansion of executive agencies that now monitor every transaction and utterance.
Each change was executed by actors who treated the Constitution not as a fixed inheritance but as material to be reshaped toward centralized control. The result is the sixth republic, whose instruments of surveillance claim authority the original framers expressly withheld.
Western Christendom once anchored political order in the distinction between the City of God and the City of Man, a distinction preserved in the creeds and carried forward through the Reformed recognition that all earthly power remains under divine law. The American founders drew upon that inheritance when they enumerated powers and reserved the rest to the states and the people.
The present regime violates that standard by substituting managerial decree for covenantal consent. Where the creeds and the Reformed confessions affirm that legitimate authority is limited and accountable, the sixth republic asserts unlimited oversight in the name of security and equity.
Such inversion cannot endure without destroying the moral order that made self-government possible. The objective reality of moral universals, affirmed by the Realists and the Traditionalists alike, exposes the fiction that a people can retain their liberties while surrendering the institutions that guard them.
The Faithful Remnant must therefore cease petitioning the leviathan for restoration. Parallel structures of household, school, and local magistracy must be erected on the original principle that government exists to protect, not to supplant, the ordered hierarchy of father, church, and commonwealth.
Only by recovering that architecture can the sixth republic be refused and the inheritance reclaimed.
