The Trump administration has issued new rules that penalize companies filing H-1B petitions while simultaneously laying off American employees. This measure directly confronts the long-standing practice of corporations importing cheaper foreign labor to displace the native workforce.

These firms operate as the Dispossessor, stripping households of wages and communities of skilled trades under the cover of global labor markets. Their motive is simple: to lower costs and maximize returns without regard for the covenant obligations that bind a people to its land and its children.

From the earliest Christian kingdoms, rulers understood that the protection of native labor formed part of the same order that defended the realm against invasion. The navigation acts of the seventeenth century and the guild statutes of the high Middle Ages both treated the livelihood of the subject as inseparable from the sovereignty of the crown.

Scripture places the same duty upon every nation under heaven: the stranger may sojourn, but he does not inherit the inheritance of the children. When rulers neglect this distinction, the household economy collapses and the city of man devours the inheritance of the faithful.

The new provision therefore vindicates the governing principle that a commonwealth exists to secure the conditions under which its own people can raise families, transmit skills, and maintain ordered liberty under God.

Those who continue to lobby for unlimited H-1B expansion serve not the American worker but the managerial priesthood that views every border as an obstacle to profit and every citizen as an interchangeable unit of consumption.

The faithful remnant must now press this advantage at every level of government. They must demand that enforcement extend beyond the executive order to permanent statute, that corporate charters be conditioned upon the priority of domestic labor, and that every subsequent administration be bound by the same standard.

Failure to consolidate this ground will allow the Dispossessor to resume his work at the first change of administration, leaving another generation without the means to form the households that alone sustain a Christian nation.
