Trump Amnesty is Another Kind of Disobedience

Evangelical leaders are supporting a pagan sentimentalism out of cowardice, not biblical compassion

Evangelical leaders who are praising Trump Amnesty aren’t expositing and exegeting Scripture and God’s Law correctly or equitably. They are falsely indulging the Social Justice Warrior (SJW) lies, so they will be accepted by the cultural elites and be loved by the humanistic wisdom of the age.

They are taking scissors to God’s law-word and cutting out the Scripture passages affirming the sovereign borders as determined by God (Acts 17:26), and the respect God requires (Numbers 20:14-21). The sovereign nation of Edom refused entry when Moses legally requested it, so Israel went another way and respected Edom’s sovereignty.

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place (Acts 17:26)

Evangelical leaders are slicing and dicing God’s law-word to ignore the commands that teach obedience to a rule of law, by citizen and non-citizen. And that lawbreakers are to be punished and disciplined, not rewarded (Leviticus 19:15).

You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. (Leviticus 19:15)

They show partiality in their judgment and ignore the Scriptural teaching of equality under the law (Proverbs 24:23-25). Evangelical leaders are pushing unequal handouts to illegal aliens in violation of the general equity of Numbers 15 that requires both citizen and non-citizen to be treated by the same standard.

Numbers 15:15-16 says, “there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a statute forever throughout your generations. You and the sojourner shall be alike before the Lord. One law, and one rule shall be for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.”

Evangelical leaders require of their citizen parishioners to give unto Caesar and obey civil laws, but to the resident alien who circumvents and breaks American law, give them charity and amnesty (Romans 13:1-2). They are getting played by the open borders SJW’s to care for the poor and sojourners by giving them a pass on their illegality. It is showing partiality in our judgment, or lack thereof, in the name of sentimentalism.

Romans 13 makes the civil magistrate God’s servant of justice against injustice. It makes it abundantly clear that good laws are to be honored and respected by all, citizen and non-citizen resident aliens. Romans 13 is the passage recognizing the authority of the civil magistrate to ensure domestic tranquility.

Cities of Refuge are not to be misconstrued by Evangelical leaders with lawless sanctuary cities in their push for Trump Amnesty and open borders. A city of refuge legally protected the accused until trial, a sanctuary city helps a lawbreaker commit an injustice. Therefore, support for Trump Amnesty by Evangelical leaders is a highly problematic and anti-biblical support for open borders and illegal immigration.

Evangelical leaders should support legal resident aliens within the sovereign parameters Scripture plainly teaches, in order to more effectively care for covenant-keeping sojourners who respect the values, laws, and customs of the United States. Trump Amnesty does no such thing. Evangelical leaders must reject an open borders Trump Amnesty, while supporting a merit-based immigration system that allows our civil magistrate to screen for criminal aliens.

In Deuteronomy 32:8, God’s law-word plainly gives God the authority to determine the sovereign borders of nations and peoples with clear lines of demarcation of sovereignty to be defended and protected. Sojourning, foreign aliens do not have a right to immigrate to a foreign land based on the relativism of their own truth. Evangelical leaders have a biblical responsibility to reject a path to citizenship for illegal aliens who have illegally circumvented American law by using the erroneous interpretation of chain migration.

Immigration into a sovereign nation, as defined by God’s law-word, was not a right of any foreigner. It was and is a privilege, so long as both citizen and non-citizen followed God and respected the customs and laws of the nation.

Sovereign nations do have the right to determine and defend their national borders as Acts 17:26 states, “And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place…” This passage says two things. First, God determines the rise and fall of nations and kingdoms, so if God chooses to end America and a new nation rises from its ashes, He has the authority. But it also defines the sovereign borders that sojourners are commanded to respect by acknowledging that God determines a nation, and it’s boundaries are sovereign, fixed, and to be respected.

Evangelicals should support true biblical assimilation modeled by Ruth.  She was a model immigrant who respected the religion and customs of the land she immigrated to by saying “your people shall be my people and your God my God” in Ruth 1:16.

But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” (Ruth 1:16)

The general equity of God’s Law instructs sojourning aliens from another land to leave their native religion and culture to embrace the religion, values, customs, and laws of the new land. Biblical assimilation is paramount to understanding the Scriptural position on immigration and Trump Amnesty. And biblical assimilation consists of religious unity, cultural unity, and social unity.

Multi-culturalism is the idolatry that makes all cultures and religions equal. The multi-culturalist Balkanization of the United States, under Trump Amnesty, should be resoundingly rejected by Evangelical leaders because God’s law-word rejects open borders Balkanization. Evangelicals should publicly reject the idolatry of multi-culturalism.

When foreigners who agree to respect the rule of law, and assimilate into American culture, values, and customs, we should welcome them with wide open arms and help them transition to their life in America. Leviticus 19:34 commands us to show that kind of immigrant the love of Christ.

You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. (Levitcus 19:34)

Assimilation was the one underlying requirement of all sojourning foreigners to become resident aliens and citizens of a new nation. It was a total and complete assimilation of culture, social, linguistic, and religious assimilation.

Multi-culturalism is not the idea of understanding different cultures. Multi-culturalism is the idolatry that preaches all religions, cultures, standards, traditions, and sexual lifestyles are morally equivalent. This is anti-biblical and should be publicly rejected from the pulpit.

Immigration is fundamentally a war of worldviews between theonomy and autonomy, God’s Law versus man’s law. Evangelical leaders must demand the standards of God’s Law for both citizen and non-citizen, equally under the law. There is no equality of standards and cultures. Therefore, Christians must preach the superiority of God’s Law and Christian culture under the Lordship and Grace of Christ.

Now, considering that America, as she stands today, is pagan and has no defined moral standards, much less a clearly defined god, America has no moral standards or religion to demand of immigrants. Unless God, in His sovereignty, is re-determining the boundaries of the Americas to no longer have a United States, the United States would be completely in the right to temporarily close all immigration until a revival of Christian religion and culture. We must be able to clearly define the God of our nation on the basis of one set of religious standards.

A nation cannot adequately and biblically welcome and care for sojourning foreigners without religious, cultural, and social unity of moral standards and one God. It couldn’t survive that chaos.

Evangelical leaders need to understand that immigration is about far more than the level of approved compassion by our pagan overlords. It is about the religious, cultural, and social cohesion, as defined by God’s moral standards and law, applied equally to citizen and non-citizen. And their support for Trump Amnesty and the open borders of the socialist heresies of the Christian Left only confuses their parishioners. They cannot truly understand the plain teaching of God’s sovereignty and law-word that way.

Evangelical leaders should reject Trump Amnesty and declare the Lordship of Christ over our nation. We should start flying the Christian flag over the American flag. And we should preach the whole Gospel to disciple the whole nation to obey all the commands of God’s law-word.
